I was born in 1950 to the most loving, caring, respectable and dedicated parents any child would be proud to call father and mother. Both were serious Christians and co-pastors for over 40 years. They preached the gospel with vigor until their deaths, living as wonderful examples of what Christianity should stand for in all matters. They were tough, but compassionate with people regardless of their physical, mental or any other status always putting the things of God first and foremost. In the late 60’s my father, Reverend Oren E. Bogart published a monthly newsletter entitled “The Last Day Messenger” in an effort to help people better understand the biblical plights Christians would face in the future and the kind of relationship with God necessary to endure those projected prophesies. The national newsletter sailed to a few other countries as well. After Reverend Bogart’s passing my mother, Pastor Ona Lee Bogart took up the mantle, pastoring the church, with the help of a few elders . She continued the monthly newsletter fulfilling my father’s unpublished writings while including some of her own. In 2006 “The Last Day Messenger” went live giving their writings worldwide view. Then, after 43 years of service, mom closed ‘Fellowship Chapel’ in 2008. She continued to post writings on “The Last Day Messenger” until her passing just short of turning 92 in June 2018. Those who knew my parents know it’s hard to find people as knowledgeable and as dedicated to the gospel as they were. They were incredible parents -- loving Christian examples to us all. They are dearly missed by many. My story has been somewhat different than theirs. I’ve been a Christian most of my life, helping with the church, ministering on occasion and reaching some through Christian music. But, I’ve struggled at times to walk the life as perfectly as is required. I will confess to being a law abiding citizen having never struggled with the law of men for anything more than a few speeding infractions. However, like many Christians, I regret breaking some of God’s laws in the past. Fortunately for all of mankind the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Like Paul, I’ve asked forgiveness and pray constantly for God’s strength to carry on in the light of his word. And, as Apostle Paul also instructed: “I die daily.” I Corinthians 15:31 Like others, I fight the good fight sharing the word of God with those that choose to read, listen and learn. Thank you for visiting! O. Eldon Bogart
